I Call Bullshit On Glenn Beck

Posted by politicalpartypooper on March 8, 2010

Nazis and Commies and Catholics!! Oh My!

Part of what is fun about being an Independent is that I can speak out against Glenn Beck, and actually be taken seriously.  Beck calls himself an Indie, but anyone who speaks at GOPAC is far from it; so let’s call bullshit on Beck’s Indie status immediately.

I’m about to call BS on Beck for something else.  Can you tell how giddy I am about it?

Let’s just jump right to his own words:

“I beg you, look for the words “social justice” or “economic justice” on your church web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, the idea, hang on, am I advising people to leave their church… yes!… If you have a priest that is pushing social justice, go find another parish.”

So we’re at it again, are we, Glenn?  Stirring up more McCarthyism bullshit?  Need you a reminder of how McCarthy ended up?  Speaking of which, McCarthy died in 1957;  when was Glenn Beck born?  No matter.  Now he wants you to leave the Catholic church.

The first evidence of Beck’s bullshit is that the Catholic Church has always been one of the staunchest enemies of communism, and got that reputation because Joseph Kennedy was so strongly opposed to it, and Kennedy and McCarthy were very close friends.  As Joseph McCarthy’s crusade against communism grew in the US, the vast majority of American Catholics supported his views, and he received strong support from many leading Catholics, diocesan newspapers, and Catholic journals.

But Beck wants churchgoers, especially Catholics, to leave their churches if two simple words, “social justice”, are found anywhere in their literature. Because, you know, the Catholic Church is a communist front.

Beck, you wouldn’t understand Christianity at its roots even if Jesus himself sat you down for a decade and explained it to you.  Why do you even bother going to a church.? In the end, your conclusion will be that Jesus Christ was a communist.  We certainly know he was all for wealth redistribution, telling followers over and over to give their money to the poor.

And there it is.

That is the crux of Glenn Beck’s angst against the church.  This isn’t about communism.  It’s about Glenn Beck protecting his wealth from the greedy poor, who, you know, are knocking on his door every five minutes for a handout.  It’s about the church’s millenniums-old beatitude of giving to those less fortunate.  Glenn Beck doesn’t BELIEVE in giving to the less fortunate.  In fact, Glenn Beck doesn’t even believe in the less fortunate.  He believes the poor are poor because they are lazy, not because they are less fortunate.

This is the foundation of everything Glenn Beck says or does.  He is not an Independent, nor is he a kind man.  He doesn’t have America’s best interests at heart, but if he can get his hands on your wallet, he’ll do it faster than you can say “what the fuck?”

Glenn Beck is now and has always been about Glenn Beck’s wallet.  That’s it.  That’s why he wants you to stop going to church.  Because he wants to stop going to church.  Because he doesn’t want to be reminded that the church’s first mission is to the poor.  No sane churchgoer would have a problem with the words “social justice” if they understood it to mean “carrying forth the mission of Christ”.  But to Glenn Beck, “social justice” means he’s going to have to give some of his money to the poor, and he doesn’t like that one bit.     Ω

Fucking Puhleezeee!!!! Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh as topics for your blog? Are you that desperate for a link to Bob Cesca’s blog, with all sixof his followers, that you have to devote time to this moron? Hey, when is the Sarah Palin article?

Hey Mr Political Analyst, tease apart the current health care reform bill for us and show your readers who loses…

How many people are insured currently? 91%

How mant people will remain uninsured with the current HRC bill? 22 million

When will Americans be taxed for the HRC bill? Immediately after it passes, except if you are a SEICU union member with a “cadillac “plan that covers everything, then your reward for dropping our of high school and turning a wrench 45 degrees to the right 6 hours is a day is no taxes.

When will they actually have insurance? 4 years after it passes.

Funny he didn’t mention she was only 5 yrs old when it happened.

Cesca is a bigger sack of shit than Beck. That is why his blog rarely has more than 5 readers , and most of those are freaks living in their mother’s basement sapnking their monkey to Hentai cartoons.

I’ve teased apart the bill several times, because I’ve actually read it, rather than relying on Republican and Democratic talking points like many people I know…yourself included. Who loses? Well, look at the group who is fighting it most. Health insurers lose for one. Republicans lose as well, considering their lies which will hurt them hugely in November. Death panels….I ask you. Was that really necessary?

Tony, you have to ask yourself the hard questions. If a political party is willing to lie about a very important American issue like Health Care, what else have they lied about? The HCR bill is available at many places online. Look for the Senate version.

“(a) NO CHANGES TO EXISTING COVERAGE.—
10 (1) IN GENERAL.—Nothing in this Act (or an
11 amendment made by this Act) shall be construed to
12 require that an individual terminate coverage under
13 a group health plan or health insurance coverage in
14 which such individual was enrolled on the date of en15
      actment of this Act.”

That’s actual language in the bill. I figured I’d provide that to you to prove to you that Republicans have been lying about what is and isn’t in it. One of their favorite lines is “government takeover of healthcare” in conjunction with “They’re going to force you to join their plan”. That is a lie. The language of the bill proves it.

Tony, you have been snowed by the Republicans and their smear campaign. Every last one of their lies can be disproven. Death panels, for example, which every Republican at one time or another used to scare the bejeebers out of Senior Citizens is nothing more than Senior Citizen counseling on Medical rights to a Living will, and end of life counseling that includes naming a relative who will have power of attorney and power of medical decision-making if the Senior can no longer make those decisions.

Typically, these things are done through an attorney and are called end-of-life planning. But many Seniors cannot afford an attorney. This program allows them access to an attorney so that they can arrange the medical care they want before they need it. It has nothing to do with killing Senior Citizens or dictating to them when they will be euthanized, as Republicans have LOUDLY suggested.

Did Republicans merely misunderstand the language? No!

They wrote it! The so-called death panel, which is actually end-of-life- counseling was written by and forwarded by Republicans! So this wasn’t some misunderstanding. It was a calculated lie, designed to scare senior citizens into opposing the health care bill.

      Nice.

Yes we know PPP, to hell with the fact that Medicare procedure denials are 5 times that of private insurance, we seek so much comfort in your defense.

Health Insurers are lose? Haaa that’s funny! They gain some 30 million new customers. Oh such a loss!

Mandating that people buy insurance is totally unamerican.
You think that’s going to be popular?

      • politicalpartypooper said

        Liberty,

First, the Medicare denial rate is only 1.7 times higher, so, another lie culled out. It’s pretty easy to see why it’s higher, too. Medicare insures every senior, not just the ones they like or think they can make the most money on. Insurers cull the herd long before it ever gets to denying a claim, and then, they are just as likely to drop you from coverage.

As for mandating coverage, it’s the only way to bring health care costs down. Incidentally, the Republican plan in 1993 relied on mandates as well. But suddenly, it’s anathema.

Yes, insurers lose. They do not want to cover sick Americans. If they could do it profitably, they would have done it a long, long time ago. The fact that they haven’t even tried should tell you everything about their ability to do it.

The truth is, forcing them to cover every American will grenade their business model. They know it, but haven’t been up front about it. Mark my words. Two years after this bill takes effect, the first insurers will be going to Congress for a bailout.

      • Liberty4all said

Okay so I stretched the facts. Almost 2 times the denial rate.
I know of smoker’s and alcoholics, diabetics and asthmatics,
and arthritis suffers with private coverage. Medicare pays 80%
of the bill for those on Medicare, why is that?? Why do doctors
refuse to take more medicare patients? Why is that??
Why do canadians need additional private coverage costing $180 a month?
        Why is that??

So your aim is to drive them out of business.

But nothing in this bill shall be construed to
12 require that an individual terminate coverage under
13 a group health plan or health insurance coverage

Also, $100 Billion savings over 10 years?
Some say we’ll have to spand an additional $2 Trillion, to save
        $100 Billion.

Apparently you’re okay with soaking americans with an additional
$2 Trillion tax bill, in order to pay for this.

Just fix the problem for those who can’t take care of themselves
and leave us the fuck alone.

      • Liberty4all said

Medicare has 5 times the fraud rate, excuse me….

      • Liberty4all said

Why does Medicare deny twice as much?

        Doctors recommend the procedures, right?

        C’mon…

    • politicalpartypooper said

I go after people like Glenn Beck not because it will please Cesca or anyone else. I go after them because they are liars, claiming to be Indies when they are not.

For your benefit, you can see the full text of the Senate bill here:

      http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=111_cong_bills&docid=f:h3590pp.txt.pdf

Read it, even skimming it will show you how many lies Republicans have used.

I just actually heard her say this –

    PELOSI HEALTHCARE:

‘We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it’…

Today! This is all complete bullshit.

    • politicalpartypooper said

      Well Lib,

From my perspective, I agree with her. To date, all we’ve heard are Republicans making shit up about it and the MSM following in lock-step. Maybe once it passes, you people will finally, actually read it.

      • Liberty4all said

Yeh, that’s all we hear. What we don’t hear from you all is adequate refutes to the charges of another huge entitlement program.

Are you glad they made it 2,000 pages, and tried to shove it through without reading it?

CBO says spend a Trillion to save a Billion. We get it.
We also understand that it’s not going be a 1 Trillion, it’s going to
        be 3, or 4.
