REPUBLICANS SEEK TO STRENGTHEN PRIVATE INSURER’S DEATH PANEL POLICIES

Posted by politicalpartypooper on August 9, 2009

Sarah Palin isn’t only one who can accuse a political party of fighting for “evil” policies.  Currently, in “the greatest health care system in the world”, private insurers have special committees set up to determine  what coverage they will offer, under what circumstances they will offer it, and when they rescind policies and deny coverage altogether.  Frequently, these decisions result in illnesses that could have been avoided, or in death due to care that was withheld due to unaffordability, or the insurance company’s unwillingness to pay for a necessary procedure.  In essence, Republicans are seeking to strengthen the insurance industry’s stranglehold on health care decision making policies.

These death panels have been responsible for the loss of countless Americans, as well as for at least half of all the uninsured in America; yet Republicans continue to fight to maintain the status quo for their insurance masters. And what do conservatives get for this valiant effort?  The same chance that you and I have; that one day, our insurers will decide to rescind our policy when we need it most.  Denying coverage and rescinding policies drives Americans to make decisions about their health that can cause irreparable harm.  Republicans find this method of rescission a definite plus in helping to maintain their insurance constituent’s profit margins.  After all, with shrinking profit margins, how can the insurance lobby continue to fund Republican campaigns?

Make no mistake about it.  Republicans are fighting tooth and nail to maintain and strengthen health insurance death panels, and the grim reaper is reporting record profits while condemning countless numbers of Americans to death each year.  Republicans have always said they favor the death penalty.  No where does that show itself more readily than in their support of the health care status quo, where their insurance constituents get to put Americans to death without chance of prosecution.  Just call it Health Care Capital Punishment, sponsored by your local and national Republican Party.
