WE WON'T BE SAFE WHILE POLITICAL PARTIES ARE LEGAL

WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT AMERICA HAVING THE BEST HEALTH CARE IN THE WORLD?

When Conservatives talk about health care reform and why they are opposed to a public option, they always cite fearful phrases such as lack of choice, lack of health care, poorer  care, sicker people, more people dying sooner, and long waiting lines.

It would seem that long waiting lines are good for people.  At least, in Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany and England, they are.    When comparing adult mortality rates in the U.S. to those in Canada, adults are 50% more likely to die between the ages of 15 and 60 in the United States as they are in Canada.  You have a 36% higher chance of dying here than in the United Kingdom.  Even France’s mortality rate is 20% lower than ours.  You can go the World Health Organization’s SIS site, and put a comparison together yourself.

By the way, Switzerland’s adult mortality rate is 73% lower than ours.  Even the United State’s Healthy Life Expectancy age is lower by three years than Canada’s, France’s, and Germany’s, and lower by four years than Switzerland’s.

Our infant mortality rate is the highest amongst all of those nations, with seven deaths per thousand live births, as compared to four for France, Germany, and Switzerland.  Canada comes in at five per thousand live births.

Oh well, another anti-health care reform lie dispelled.
