$100 MILLION IS A LOT, AND IT’S NOT

President Obama held a televised Cabinet Meeting at which he instructed the various departments to find $100 Million Dollars they could cut from the budget?
What is that?
I sincerely hope that the adviser who told him $100 Million Dollars was a good amount to focus on was fired. Why the big announcement? What was the point?
Yes, $100 Million Dollars is a lot of money. I could build five hundred homes, worth $200,000 each for that amount. I could pay for two thousand jobs at $50,000 per year. So $100 Million is nothing to sneeze at.
But against the scope of the Federal deficit?
No, $100 Million should have been touted as a small, small, small downpayment on much larger cuts in the very, very, very near future.
Let’s hope that advisor has nothing else to say.
