SENATOR DODD IS FIBBING

CHRISTOPHER DODD

Senate Banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd has admitted that he is responsible for language added to the federal stimulus bill which ensured that existing contracts for bonuses at companies receiving federal bailout money were honored.

He’s also saying that the Obama Administration insisted on the wording, citing concerns about lawsuits against the government if those bonuses were not paid.

“The administration had expressed reservations,” Dodd said. “They asked for modifications. The alternative was losing the amendment entirely.”

Earlier in the week, Dodd lied about his role in adding the language to the bill, claiming he had nothing to do with it.

The AIG Derivatives branch is in Senator Dodd’s home state. Many of the bonuses in question were given to employees at that branch . However, Dodd said he had no idea the legislation would impact the company.

Dodd is also the Senate member who recieves more AIG campaign money than any other, even more than President Obama, and former candidate John McCain.  Since 1989, Christopher Dodd has received$281,038 from AIG.

“Let me be clear — I was completely unaware of these AIG bonuses until I learned of them last week,” he said.

Christopher Dodd wants you to believe he is being clear, which would be a first, me thinks.

Senator Dodd, what makes you think we can believe you now?  Is it arrogance?  Stupidity?  Ignorance?  Do you think that by saying, “Let me be clear”,  Americans can be assured that suddenly, what you are saying is honest?

$281,038 says you aren’t being honest.  In fact, $281,038 says you are still lying, and have been for quite some time.  That you are shameless in your attempt to implicate the Obama Administration is obvious.

I call for Senator Christopher Dodd to resign his elected position.

Dodd needs to go NOW! He has blood on his hands. He should resign and if not an investigation should be conducted to determine if he engaged in pushing legislation that deliberately aided those (AIG) that contributed to his campaign funds.

Senator Dodd will have his hands full with his upcoming re-election bid and you can bet the bank (no pun intended) that this AIG thing will play a prominant role.
