OBAMA AND MCCAIN’S ECONOMIC IDIOCY

Posted by politicalpartypooper on September 17, 2008

As best as I can track it, our national debt is 9.4 trillion dollars.  That’s $9,400,000,000,000.

That’s a lot of money, and a lot of zeroes.  (why do we add an “e” when we make “zero” plural?)  During this election campaign, Democratic candidate Barrack Obama, and Republican candidate John McCain say they have an economic plan to fix our economic woes.  Both plans start by cutting taxes.

While cutting taxes sounds good, and has been used as political capital by candidates for decades, with our current national debt, it’s just not feasible.  Not a good plan; try again.

Think about it. Does it make fiscal sense, when in debt, to reduce earning capacity?  That would be like you or me owing one million dollars in debt, and cutting our working hours from forty to thirty to improve our economic prospects.  if I did that, you’d call me an idiot, wouldn’t you?

So what do we call two politicians running for president whose best plan is to cut our nation’s income in the face of so much debt?  One of two things is happening here: either the candidates are lying and will raise taxes as they must (and also cut wasteful spending, which is another post by itself), or both candidates really are as clueless as they look when you analyze their economic plans.

Barrack Obama and John McCain.

Question to the Democratic and Republican parties:  Is this really the best you could come up with?

The American people deserve better.  You must think we are stupid.
