Sarah Palen’s Daughter’s Secret? Huh?

Posted by politicalpartypooper on September 2, 2008

So Sarah Palin’s seventeen year old daughter is pregnant. So what?

Why is this news? Why is this necessary?

Because the liberal media will have it no other way. Remember the attack on Cheney’s daughter?

Wow! The depths to which the two parties will slink knows no bounds.

Here’s a newsflash for all the media. Sarah Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy is not news. However, it will be huge news if all of your rhetoric driven, gossip mongering causes this girl any mental or physical harm.

The media should be ashamed of itself. It should cease stories about this immediately, and report instead on it’s own efforts in electing America’s president instead of allowing the citizens to do it.

Yeah, I’d like to see a story about that.

I don’t think it’s the news media coverage that’s the issue … I question Sarah Palen’s judgment in accepting the VP spot, KNOWING it would push her vulnerable daughter into the national slimelight.

Yes, this is a chance of a lifetime for mom, but OMG, that girl is going to be subjected to such cruelty and notoriety. To go from being a frightened high schooler to having Larry King Live premise a show around her pregnancy? … I just don’t see how mom can justify it.

Even if daughter said, “go for it, Mom!” a young girl doesn’t have the life experience to foresee the consequences. So much for family values.

Thanks for the comment. Maybe you’re right. However, when have we ever known a republican or democrat to be of sound judgement?

My question is with a challenged four month old baby and a pregnant daughter – who is going to get the short end of the stick — the children or the Country. McCain just DOESN’T GET IT!

I don’t think we have to worry about the children getting the short end of the stick; mothers worldwide have shown an incredible, almost superhuman ability to juggle one hundred things at at a time.

Nay, Joan, mourn instead for the country, who always gets the short end of the stick whenever a democrat or republican is elected to ANY office, including McCain AND Obama.

Watching this political story unfold from France where I live, it seems to me that the American culture suffers from a blindness to the most obvious. The fact that the daughter of Ms. Palen has become pregnant at 17 and before completing high school is perhaps unfortunate for a few reasons at least, but not the end of the world.

What is questionable is the fact that there is a wedding to follow, an election in which the mother is involved as a principal player and every aspect of the lives in play will be examined. Publicity about all of this will have possibly negative effects on the young man and the young woman who ill be having a baby in a few months. i think that Ms. Palen is displaying a business as usual, ambitious side in the face of a family crisis. this may be in conflict with the total benefit of her family including her young son who obviously needs her attention.

There are many people who could be John McCain’s running mate, but not many who can step in and manage the Palen family in place of Sarah and Todd Palen. There is a limit to what one can juggle.

Establishing priorities which work for the entire family could be a good idea.

I think your comment is insightful and well thought out. But what’s disturbing to me is our media’s affection for destroying people. It’s almost like sport to them. That disgusts me.
