REAGAN REBORN
Posted by politicalpartypooper on February 25, 2009
I only watched a small part of President Obama’s speech to the Joint Session of Congress last night. Too busy watching recorded episodes of The West Wing, I guess.
What I did see was amazing. I saw a young, vibrant leader, doing his best Ronald Reagan impression, only this was no impression. This was the real deal. Not since the Eighties have we seen a President hold such sway in a speech. Clinton couldn’t do it, nor could either Bush. President Barack Obama made love to the camera in a way that hasn’t been seen for twenty-two years.
Yet Barack Obama is like Reagan in more ways than one. I have always believed that a President is a consensus builder, a dreamer, a salesperson. He’s the big picture guy. The details are all the people he has convinced. Our last President convinced less than half the country, and mainly because as Republicans, they had to be convinced, until it was inconvenient for them to be so. Our new President is rapidly convincing an entire nation, and he’s doing it while chiding both parties, including his own; something Ronald Reagan was known to do from time to time.
You can’t help but smile as you watch Barack Obama speak, especially when he speaks of the reasons why America is still great, and the reasons why she will continue to be great. No one did optimism like Reagan, until this new guy, who does it, if not better, then at least as well.
America, embrace the new guy. His name is President Barack Obama, and he’s here to rock your llama. (okay, the word I wanted to use there would have made some people call me a racist, so I decided to be wise for one of the few times in my life, and use a silly word, like llama, or hama, or just plain dama. Just so long as I didn’t use the word “mama”.)

I really like your stuff. Discovered today after reading your Cesca comments. Agreed on this, however, people still hold out and don’t embrace the new LEADERSHIP. Obama is just that. A leader. I don’t agree with some of the new policies but I’m going to put my hat in the trust ring and hope for the best.

BO is a figure head. He should have stayed as a community organizer or have become a preacher or an inspirational speaker. He can give a speech but he has no detail in planning, nor do his elves…Emmanuel and Giethner, and thus Wall Street has voted no confidence in these frat boys.
We are doomed, our economy is in the tank, Russia bitch slapped Obama over the missile defense system, Iran is openly developing their nuke program, and the Taliban is just waiting for us to traipse into their lair in Afghanistan.
BUT I am so grateful that the White House is able to paint Rush Limbaugh as the face of the Republican Party.Yee Hawww!!!!!!!
