Remember back in the early and Mid-Nineties, when our politicians were clamoring over each other to get America into the global economy? Remember how everyone in the world thought that by tying our fortunes together, the world would be immune to huge economic crisis?
I remember Bill Clinton telling us that America was moving forward into a new global economy, and this global link would cement friendships and make the world a smaller, friendlier place. I remember George W Bush saying similar things. Heck, America was proud to be at the forefront of creating an interdependence amongst nations worldwide.
What were we thinking?
We should apologize to every nation in the world, as should Britain, France, and Germany.
